"If we fight on our feet, the people of Bangladesh will not turn towards India."

Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, Advisor to the Ministry of Shipping, said, "We want to live in peace with our neighbors."

"But if they fall and fight, the people of Bangladesh will never turn to that country again. Remember, this is a country of 180 million people, not a small country around you."

He said these things in response to a question from reporters after inspecting the progress of the Chandpur modern launch terminal work on Tuesday (December 3) afternoon.

The advisor also said, there is no reason to do what India is doing. Those who follow other religions in our country are our citizens. We see their good and bad. Please do not do what the Indian media is doing. We want to remain friends between the two countries.

Regarding the progress of the modern launch terminal work, he said, "The irregularities and thefts that happened earlier cannot be caught even with a net. Now, it is our concern to ensure that there is no more theft.

That is why I came to see the progress of the work myself. In addition, the advisor warned against illegal sand extraction in the Padma-Meghna rivers.

Present at the time were Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mohsin Uddin, Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib, Superintendent of Naval Police of Chandpur region Syed Moshfiqur Rahman, President of Chandpur Press Club Shahadat Hossain Shanto, among others.
